Jessamyn Ansary is a writer, producer and filmmaker with over 15 years of experience creating content for documentary films and unscripted television. Her feature music documentary, Lee Fields: Faithful Man, premiered in North America on Amazon Prime and Apple in 2024. Jessamyn is currently a scriptwriter for Jupiter Entertainment, where she writes for multiple true crime shows including Snapped, Killer Couples and Sins of the City. She’s also an e-commerce writer for Time Magazine and Associated Press. In 2022, she co-produced The Jewel Thief, a feature true crime documentary for Hulu, and in 2021, she cast the leads on the HBO Max series Swiping America. Jessamyn got her start as an associate producer on acclaimed director Michael Apted’s documentary Married in America. She was part of the producing team on the Emmy-nominated healthcare documentary Escape Fire, and on multiple HBO feature docs and series, including Americans in Bed and Real Sex. Other film and TV experience includes writing and producing for networks and platforms like HBO Documentaries, Hulu, National Geographic, Travel Channel, Oxygen Channel, TV One, and others; and casting talent for Food Network and HBO Max, among others.
